 • 4/20/13 Shania's Debut Album - 20 Year Anniversary. 20 years ago today, April 20, 1993, Shania Twain's self-titled debut album was released in North America. Shortly before its release, Shania sang backing vocals for other Mercury artists, including Jeff Chance's 1992 album Walk Softly on the Bridges and Sammy Kershaw's 1993 album Haunted Heart. Shania Twain only reached No. 67 on Billboard's Country Albums Chart, but it gained positive reviews from critics. The album failed to sell significant copies initially, although Twain's future success generated enough interest for the album to be certified platinum six years later by the RIAA, denoting sales of over 1 million. Shania Twain yielded two minor hit singles in the United States with "What Made You Say That" and "Dance with the One That Brought You". The album was more successful in Europe, where Twain won Country Music Television Europe's "Rising Video Star of the Year" award.

• 4/17/13 Shania Spotted In Las Vegas. From Vegas Deluxe: Caesars Palace headliner Shania Twain and husband Frederic Thiebaud dined at Wolfgang Puck's Spago in The Forum Shops and enjoyed asparagus soup, salad and a mushroom pizza -- all in keeping with their vegan diets.

• 3/27/13 "What Made You Say That" - 20 Years! 20 years ago today, Shania's first single "What Made You Say That" debuted on the Billboard Hot Country Singles & Tracks chart the week of March 27, 1993 at No. 74. It spent 18 weeks on the chart and climbed to a peak position of No. 55 on May 15, 1993, where it remained for two weeks. Billboard magazine reviewed the song as "sassy, buoyant, catchy, and supported by an alluring video." The music video for "What Made You Say That" was shot in Miami Beach, Florida and directed by Steven Goldmann. It was filmed on January 12, 1993 and released on February 5, 1993.
